Democracy & Math

Turned my Twitter rant into rage-typing- Democracy & Math. Hope you enjoy it!

You tell me policies in the mold of the New Deal are fairy tales, unicorns & rainbows. I reject that wholly. Democracy means we have the power & means to change our circumstances. If we stand up & demand more, we damn sure can get it. We have to fight. Our planet needs to be saved. We need to stop killing people around the world & fix our house. We need to put capital to more productive purpose- no matter where it’s hidden. This is the largest economy in the world; no one should get access to it for free. Where would corporations be without our taxpayer-developed education system, infrastructure & the internet? That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Don’t tell me we can’t afford better schools, jobs, roads, bridges & healthcare; all distributed fairly based upon need. Yes, there is space there for well-regulated capitalism. Not the predatory kind. The type that profits from the public good. Don’t tell me manufacturing can’t come back to our shores. Bad policy sent it away; good policy can bring it back. Even if in a different form. All this is possible if we all stand up. It sounds Revolutionary. It’s just democracy & math.

We can demand that our government officials provide opportunity to all of us. We work every day and pay our taxes. Don’t let anyone fool you; we can adjust spending, revenue and trade policy to improve our quality of life. There should never be a tent city in the richest, most powerful nation in human history.

Stand and join us on the Love Train. The Revolution is happening…
